I am a funeral professional and seeing people ripped off by other homes is horrendous and I am ashamed of some of the people in my profession. If their is any advice I can offer it is shop around and take your time I understand that at the time of someone”s pasing can be difficult making decisions even more difficult but be patient. I also recommend shopping around before someone passes giving you more time as well as getting your loved ones input is of great benefit to all. I also can say that it seems better to use an independent funeral home as the seem to care more about families and are easier on the pocketbook than the corporate homes. If nothing else ask if they are independently owned it may be an indicator as to how they treat you remember when corporations come into an area and buy up little funeral homes they only keep the ones that are selling and making money and maybe not the ones who are taking the best care of their families.
