Death is certain, but that doesn’t mean the funeral home industry is recession proof.
According to a recent study by the National Funeral Home Directors Association, families have become more budget conscious when it comes to funeral arrangements. The study reports that people are buying cheaper coffins, cutting back on services and opting for cremation more often.
Warren Williams, funeral home manager for Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport, said cremations are definitely on the rise.
